Getting used to things more and more

So my stuff is still in customs. I checked with the customs broker, and the paperwork has been sent along and everything is going through quarantine. I don't think they'll be all that happy that my bike has a bunch of road gung on it, but it'll be sorted soon enough. Ultimately its just good to hear that progress is being made on that front. Other than the bike, I'll get my computer (still looking for a monitor). With high speed internet as expensive as it is over there (almost $50/month with a 3GB download limit, after which you get downgraded to a 28.8 connection until the end of the month) I don't think that I'll bother with it, maybe just a $15/month dial up connection for convenience emails and IMs.

As far as the cable connection goes, my housemate was all in favor of signing up for it. She actually brought it up, as both her and her boyfriend are TV junkies like myself. The momentum for cable slowed as the girl who I'm subletting from came over for a little while. She's not in favor of cable. Plus, she asked the neighbors about the antennas that were on the roof. Looks like that may be free but it will require talking to other tenants and loads of red tape. I want cable now. We'll see how that shakes out.

Saw some fireworks over the opera house and of course I didn't think of taking pictures! Oh well. I've got my camera software installed and I've got the cable, so I finally was able to get photos off of my camera. Next step is Ophoto for hosting I think. Anyway, I gotz to get my pancookery on!

Damn there is just not enough time in the day!

I've moved in to the sublet apartment, about to get my pancookery on, but I'm finding that I'm staying at work 1 -2 hours later than I need to. Alot of this is due to my internet habit but a significant part is due to getting the aussies trained and getting this trainging off the ground. Once I give about 5 or so trainings and they learn more, they'll be transferring alot less calls to me and my job will be easier. Unless that is a lie and I just get more projects to tackle; there are some big picture things that can be improved here. Accomplishing one or two of them would be a huge success. Awe, I'm all wrapped up in work right now. Not good.

Getting back to the apartment thing, my 2 housemates are actually quite nice. There is one working TV in the house and its a small one on a cart. When i came home last night, they wheeled it out of their bedroom to me. Thats was mighty thoughtful, even if we only get 1, maybe 2 channels. I'm still dying for cable TV, but its not going to happen in this apartment unless I want to spend about $200 to have it for 7 weeks (thank you installation and early cancellation fees)! So if I continue to be this busy, I really won't miss it and I'll save a few more dollars. Alternatively, I can opt out of this apartment and move in to another apartment or bite the bullet and get my own - either way I can satisfy my cable needs. I probably should look into a cell phone (AKA mobile). If it wasn't getting late I could really babble incessantly. You're lucky that I'm hungry and need to buy some towels before I go home!

Whew! I know, its been a long time since I last posted here. Never really even got the ball rolling for that matter. Both no worries. After being very busy packing and moving out of Providence, moving back in with the rental unit (briefly) and then moving to Sydney, New South Wales, I feel like I can finally catch my breath, at least once I get up to date here, anyway.

I'm out of the hotel and into a sublet. I'll be with a scottish girl and her boyfriend until June or whenever I find my own place (this could be hastened if its a madhouse). I came into the office today (sunday) because:
a. I'm lame
b. I need my internet fix
c. I need my red sox fix
d. I'm still sorting my way through my desk and job. Actually its not really My Desk, so much as I'm working at this desk while the Aussie is gone. So I'm sorting though his reference materials and getting situated.
e. I needed to install software on my work computer so I can upload some photos of Sydney

Well, I wanted to do e. but just didn't get around to it.

I finally saw Punchdrunk Love which was just released here, to my luck. Its a fantastic movie and I highly recommend it. I think I like it more than Magnolia or Boogie Nights. The camerawork was really superb and clocking in at 95 minutes, it never dragged. I actually would have liked to see more of Philip Seymour Hoffman, but then again his role was not very important to the story.

So the sox bullpen lost another Pedro start, eh? Damn, damn, damn.
