Double digits
Sat down and did some calculations the other day - I've got less than 100 days left here. In that time, the leaves will turn in new england and it will get hot here, baseball season will be long gone, football will be damn near done. We'll be about 2 weeks from christmas and then 2004, so alot of stuff can happen in that time. I'm going back and forth with how to best use these next three months here. I was thinking of squirrelling away money and kicking it local for the remainder of the trip, but thats shortsighted. I'm thinking of the red centre, melborne, and new zealand. I can't afford all of that though, so most likely it'll either be the first two or new zealand (round trip plane tickets to melbourne are about $75US, so thats a cheap long weekend. Hopefully in a week or so I'll shore something up - whatevers got the best deals will probably be the tiebreaker.
A few management types came down here for a quick check up on sydney. I took 'em out for a bit on monday night, first for a few drinks then for some dinner. One of Sydneys flaws reared it head and almost wreaked havok on the evening. Businesses close early here. Good luck finding a department store open after 5 or 6 PM during the week. Turns out that (at least on mondays) the same holds for restaurants. OK, so the first place I suggested I had never been to and couldn't find. But the second place is in the Centrepoint tower (seen in this photo) which should be open at 830, no? Well, we then tried 2 other restaurants in Surry Hills before we found a place open. Lucklly it was one of the best thai places in the city, so I didn't put a black spot on their sydney experience.
I have got to work on my friendster skills. Dan and Liam both know this. At least I got the new Ikea catalog in today. woopie!
